Looking for a rewarding upholstery project? Join us for a hands-on workshop at Renew, where you'll transform a modern armchair into a stylish piece of furniture using the fabric of your choice.
Perfect for confident beginners and those looking to develop their upholstery skills, this workshop will guide you through the complete upholstery process while teaching practical techniques that you can apply to future projects.
Located at our state-of-the-art facility in Trafford Park, Renew transforms Greater Manchester's donated items into valuable resources, donating over £225,000 each year to local charities and good causes. By taking part in one of our workshops, you're helping us continue that work while learning a rewarding new skill.
What You'll Make
During the workshop, you'll upholster a modern armchair, supplied by Renew, using your own chosen fabric. You'll leave with a professionally upholstered chair ready to take pride of place in your home.
What You'll Learn
Throughout the workshop you'll gain hands-on experience in:

Measuring, marking and cutting upholstery fabric

Our experienced upholsterers will guide you through every stage of the process, ensuring you gain confidence while producing a high-quality finished chair.
Materials
We provide:

A modern armchair frame

All upholstery tools and equipment

Foam, fillings, webbing and all additional upholstery materials
You will need to bring 3–4 metres of suitable upholstery fabric for your chair.
If you're unsure how much fabric you'll need or whether your chosen fabric is suitable, please contact us before your workshop and we'll be happy to advise.

Free parking is available on site, and the nearest tram stop is the Trafford Centre.
What to Bring
Please bring:

3–4 metres of suitable upholstery fabric

A packed lunch (or we're happy to recommend local cafés and eateries nearby)
For your safety, full-length trousers are required. Please do not wear skirts or shorts. We also recommend wearing steel toe boots if you have them. If not, we can provide safety footwear on site.
Workshop Fee
£220 per person
The fee includes your modern armchair, expert tuition, full use of our professional upholstery workshop, all tools, and all upholstery materials required to complete your chair (excluding fabric).

All items are for collection only from our Renew Hub in Trafford Park. You will receive an email notification when your item is ready to collect. please email Mail@RenewGreaterManchester.com
Collection is available from Tuesday- Saturday between 8.00am - 4pm.

Please check all measurements for your item before ordering to ensure that it will fit in your vehicle and home.
Please note the Hub is on an industrial estate with a number of industrial units. It is located towards the end of Nash Road on the right hand side after DHL and is accessible only by vehicle. Once you enter the site please follow the directions to Click & Collect.

Pre loved Items
All of our items are preloved and have been donated at one of the household recycling centres in Greater Manchester. All items are checked at the Greater Manchester Renew Hub before being put up for sale.
Warranty & Returns
We understand that buying a preloved item is a big investment, and we want to make sure you're happy with your purchase. That's why we offer a return policy on all items.
If you're not happy with your purchase for any reason, you can return it for a full refund within 30 days of the purchase date. Simply contact us via Shopify or email renewhub.uk@suez.com to organise a return. In the unlikely event that a problem does occur we cannot be held responsible for any consequential loss incurred. Returns to the Hub at Trafford Park and/or buyer pays for return postage.

This items has been handpicked, cleaned, repaired, refurbished or upcycled at the Renew Hub in Greater Manchester. You can donate unwanted items at any Recycling Centre across Greater Manchester - look out for the Renew container.
